Tunnel Park Menagerie: Inspiration

Tunnel Park Menagerie, inspired by the Lakewood Farm, presents the timeless magic of Holland Michigan's lakeshore. George Getz's Lakewood Farm entertained thousands of guests, from 1910 to 1933, showcasing gardens and exotic animals from around the world including wildcats, leopards, birds, monkeys, camels and Nancy, the elephant!

Additionally inspired by the mysterious multigenerational monarch butterflies who migrate to Mexico each year. How do they find their destination?!

Klompen Garden 2020

Klompen Garden, a public art project celebrating community artists and Dutch heritage, will showcase 20 pairs of artfully designed large ‘wooden’ shoes installed in city parks and tulip beds throughout the downtown Holland area during the Tulip Time Festival.

A juror vote and public vote will determine the favorite klompen. The juror’s pick will be announced at the event "First Bloem" in February where all top 20 artists and their works will be featured. The public will have a chance to vote for their favorites of the remaining 19 klompen between May 2 – 9, 2020.
